Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Accelerated Swift (“Accelerated Swift,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use our website, create an account, and use the Accelerated Swift macOS application (collectively, the “Service”). It applies to all users of the Service and describes the choices you have regarding your information. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Accelerated Swift is a learning tool that runs primarily on your own Mac. Wherever possible, we process data locally on your device and keep the information that reaches our systems to the minimum needed to operate the Service. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

Information We Collect

Accelerated Swift is designed with privacy in mind. We collect only the minimal information necessary to provide the app:

  • Account Information: The email address used to make a purchase and restore access on your devices.
  • Usage Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics that help us improve the app.
  • Crash Reports: Technical data used to fix bugs and improve stability.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Verify your purchase and restore access when you sign in
  • Improve app performance and the learning experience
  • Provide support when you request it
  • Send important updates about the app and new modules

Data Storage and Security

Your code, exercise solutions, and lesson progress are stored locally on your device. Compilation and grading run entirely on your Mac. We do not have access to:

  • The source code you write in the app
  • Your personal files or the rest of your machine
  • Screenshots or recordings of your screen

The limited account information we do handle—including any data obtained through Google Sign-In—is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored encrypted at rest. Access is restricted to the systems and personnel required to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

Third-Party Services

Accelerated Swift may use the following third-party services:

  • Payments: Lemon Squeezy processes purchases and handles billing details securely.
  • Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics (no personal data).
  • Updates: Automatic update checking for new versions.

Google Sign-In and Google User Data

Accelerated Swift offers “Sign in with Google” as an optional way to create and access your account. When you choose to sign in with Google, we request access only to the following information from your Google Account, and only after you grant consent on the Google permission screen:

  • Email address (.../auth/userinfo.email) — used to identify your account and restore your purchase across devices.
  • Basic profile information (.../auth/userinfo.profile) — your name and profile picture, used to personalize your account.

We use this Google user data solely to authenticate you, create and secure your account, and restore access to content you have purchased. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties except as required to provide the service or comply with the law.

Accelerated Swift’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can review or revoke Accelerated Swift’s access to your Google Account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account information (such as your email address and purchase record) only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Anonymous analytics and crash reports are retained on an aggregated basis and are not tied to your identity.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing kasasbeh@proton.me. On receiving a verified request, we delete your account data, including any Google user data obtained through Google Sign-In, within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated data.
  • Opt out: Turn off analytics collection in the app settings at any time.
  • Withdraw consent: Revoke permissions you previously granted, such as access to your Google Account.
  • Object or restrict: Object to or ask us to restrict certain processing of your information.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at kasasbeh@proton.me. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the site, keep you signed in, and remember basic preferences such as your theme. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect how the website functions.

Legal Bases for Processing

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or a region with similar laws, we process your personal information only where we have a valid legal basis to do so. Those bases include:

  • Contract: To create your account, verify your purchase, and provide the Service you requested.
  • Consent: Where you have given us permission, such as signing in with Google or enabling optional analytics.
  • Legitimate interests: To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and improve the product, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: To comply with applicable laws, including tax and accounting requirements.

International Data Transfers

We and the third-party providers we rely on may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. Laws in those countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction. When we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in a manner consistent with this policy and applicable law, including by relying on providers that offer appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for developers and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to or deletion of that information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may exercise your rights by contacting us at the email address below, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
